"Is it fair that one man be allowed to impose his opinions on our open society without being elected? Is this a country of George Soros, by George Soros and for George Soros? Does one man have the right to wipe out the views of an entire nation, or at least half of it by means of buying an election? What will George Soros do with America once he wins this election? Who will be the real President of the U.S., George Soros or John Kerry?"
I am not a billionaire. Far from it, and I'm sure George Soros could squash me if he chose to with his lawyers, street protestors, 527s and millions of dollars. And, well, he may squash me anyway. But while I'm alive, I will do what I can to promote the Bush Doctrine of Preemption that Mr. Soros seems intent on ensuring does not go forward. I'm an individual and I have a problem with one man attempting to spend his billions in an effort to "convince" us that we should vote for John Kerry. The above quote is from my article on Mr. Soros called "Soros: A Gift Horse's Mouth We Should Look Into?"
Now Mr. Soros has decided to get personally involved in the election campaign. Not only must Mr. Bush run against John Kerry and the liberal media but now he must run against George Soros who is exerting his power and influence in order to convince us to kick George Bush out of office. We are supposed to view him as a benevolent philanthropist with a deep concern for our nation and its future. He has spent millions ensuring that his press is good and his credentials are spotless. We are Americans. We don't just fall for the pronouncements of any stranger that happens to wave a few billion dollar bills around. We usually ask, "What is he really after?"
In that article, I asked several question of Mr. Soros that I felt were relevant to his involvement in this election. I also wrote:
"I think these are important questions and they should be answered before it is too late. I call on the liberal media to prove they are not biased by asking these and other questions. I’ve tried to learn just what Soros thinks but it seems most of his opinions are carefully reported so as to make him look like a person in favor of democracy and open society. But what is democracy in George Soros eyes and what will he expect John Kerry to do about it when he is elected? The reason I think this is important is because, in my readings about George Soros, I hear statements about “human rights” but not about “individual” rights. So I’m skeptical."
Needless to say, the liberal media has not asked any questions of Mr. Soros, nor informed us of just what this extremely wealthy individual has done in his career except to point to altruistic goals and lofty ideals. Now that Mr. Soros has indicated, on his website, a willingness to answer questions from the American electorate in order to convince us that we should not vote for Mr. Bush, I wonder if he will answer questions from some people like me that are skeptical. Skepticism is still allowed in this country, I think. I would like to suggest that you, the American voter, ask some serious questions of Mr. Soros. Let's make him convince us but first of all, let's make sure he can convince us to trust him and his motives. What has John Kerry promised you in return for your help in getting him elected?
How much of a return on your investment are you expecting to receive?
Are there any specific programs that you expect Mr. Kerry to sign into law for you and how will you benefit from those programs?
Since there are rumors that you have manipulated regional and international markets in order to make many of your millions, what can we expect in a Kerry Presidency? Will you assure Americans that you will not do anything with your vast power to create an economic catastrophe immediately before the election in order to help John Kerry? Please tell us you will do no such thing.
What if you are wrong on the Doctrine of Preemption and George Bush is right? This means if you win, that the terrorists be allowed to function. What will you do about them?
How do you think we should go about ensuring we are safe in a George Soros influenced America?
If America is attacked again, what would you recommend we do?
Would you please define what you consider to be an "Open Society" in terms of individual rights, property rights and tax policy?
How much input have you had in the negative campaigning, insults and name calling in which the Kerry campaign and his 527s have engaged?
Do you believe race baiting is a valid election strategy?
Are you really supporting Kerry to be involved in the election as a free citizen or for economic/business reasons?
You say you believe that might does not make right. Do you believe that "money makes right"? Specifically your money?
Are you planning on buying any votes, specifically paying people to vote for John Kerry?
In the past, dictators have typically allied themselves with hardened criminals. Why are you hiring criminals to work for ACT? Will there be any intimidation of voters or coercion?
How do you defend supporting a man for President who has admitted that he committed war crimes?
Would you be willing to release the notes of your meetings with Ellen Malcolm, Mort Halpern, John D. Podesta, Jeremy Rosner, Robert Boorstin, Carl Pope, Steve Rosenthal and other Democrats where you openly discussed your campaign strategy? If not, do you believe the American public have a right to know what was discussed at that meeting? What plans were made and who said what? In particular, was there any discussion of tactics to be used? For instance, was it discussed at this meeting or any other meeting, about using the tactics of the “Big Lie” against George Bush? The “Big Lie” is a Nazi and Soviet technique that involves repeating the same lie over and over until people begin to believe it.
What was said in these meetings about a strategy to publish a number of books all damaging to George Bush? How was this strategy conceived and how were the tactics developed? The real question is why do these books seem to be biased against the facts and the Bush administration? Is this bias a deliberate policy to deceive the American people?
Is deception an appropriate method for someone that believes in democracy or is it more an indication of the unfairness of someone that believes that money makes right?
Have you created your new website because you don't want to see all that money you've spent wasted on a losing campaign?
Why should the American people trust you?
How do you feel about the lies and negative commercials that the 527s that you funded have put on? Do you feel responsible for these efforts to mislead the American electorate?
Why do you insist that George Bush lied to the American people about WMD when that charge has been refuted many times?
Did you or any of your shadow organizations have anything to do with financing these books?
Do you believe it is ok to lie to the American people if it is good for democracy?
How do you see the role of lies in an open society?
What kind of illegal tactics does ACT plan when “mobilizing” voters in battle ground states? Will there be any intimidation? Will voters be treated as property of the Democratic Party? Will they be asked before hand for whom they will vote and if so, will Bush voters be denied transportation? Further, were any strategies discussed at these meetings to ensure that Republicans are not allowed to vote? Is any work being done to remove Republicans from the rolls of voters or otherwise prevent them from voting? Is there any voter fraud planned such as dead people voting? What was said at your strategy meetings about possibly stealing the election if necessary?
Did any of your meetings include media people? If so, which people? What was discussed about the media's role in the election?
Why do we see efforts by the Dems to defame and criticize alternative media critics like Fox News and Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, not by arguing against their positions or stories, but by insulting and marginalizing them? Is this part of the Soros strategy?
What will happen to the political opposition once your money makes right in America? Will they be exposed to IRS audits, illegal searches, fishing expeditions, outright lies and possibly even efforts to strong arm their sponsors into dropping them? Was this discussed at these meetings?
Do you or any of your organizations plan on any involvement with our health care system in a Kerry Presidency and who will benefit financially from it? Who will get first dibs on the bonanza that a new health care system will create? How about other programs?
What gives you the right to decide that our foreign policy should be done according to you?
How do you square your antipathy against preemptive action by Bush with the examples of preemptive action taken by such Presidents as Truman, Kennedy, Reagan and Bush I?
These are questions that I think Mr. Soros should be asked and I think he should publicize the answers so that the whole world can be informed about him. American's have a right to know. I'd like to suggest that you log onto Mr. Soro's website and ask these questions. Let's see if he answers them. http://www.georgesoros.com.
