In our day, certain sectors of our media and
political establishment are stating that George Bush conspired with
deliberate intent to go to war with Saddam Hussein. Some are saying
that the desire to go to war was a waste of American lives and military
resources all for the sake of a personal vendetta. Others are saying
that Bush was pushed into war because of bad intelligence and under false
pretenses. We think that it would be a good idea to look back at
Franklin Roosevelt's pre-war activities in order to get an indication of
information developed after the war regarding his possible involvement in
pushing our nation into war with Japan. In this chapter from the
book (Chapter 6, "If I were a Jap..."), Roosevelt's Road to Russia, George
N. Crocker looks at evidence developed that indicated there may have
been more to the assumption that we were the victim of a surprise attack
at Pearl Harbor. We will let the reader decide for himself.
