Katie Hager joins IDS, Inc.
Driver Development Program
Thursday, January 22, 2009,
Sacramento, CA and Indianapolis, IN – New Century Marketing Concepts and
IDS, Inc. have signed a long-term marketing agreement to partner in the
development of a motorsports marketing program whose goal will be to
bring IDS, Inc. products into the mainstream.
Katie Hagar is twenty two years old
and is currently living in Sacramento, California. She is originally
from Damariscotta, Maine and has been involved in racing since she was
eleven years old. In 2000, Katie transitioned from go-karts to the
Allison Legacy Series, which was originated by the NASCAR driver Bobby
Allison. She then excelled within the Pro All Star Series in New
England, racing an Open Wheel Modified and a Super Late Model. Katie is
currently a member of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Program with team
owner Frank Jordan of Golden State Racing, Inc. in the NASCAR Whelen All
American Series in Northern California.
Golden State Racing holds two NASCAR
Championships in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series with veteran
driver Eric Schmidt in 2003 & 2007. Schmidt, who will be Katie’s team
mate and driving coach, also won the SRL Southwest Tour Championship in
2006.
Katie’s Plans for 2009 include the
Whelen Late Model Series at Stockton 99 Speedway in Stockton, Calif,
limited races in Davey Hamilton’s Super Late Model Touring Series, and a
Firestone Indy Lights test at the end of the season. 2010 plans call
for a limited NASCAR Truck Series schedule and other events to be
determined.
Katie is a strong supporter of the
American Cancer Society and the “Make A Wish” Foundation. Through her
campaigning to raise thousands of dollars for these charities, Katie
continues to set high goals and is working to race a full NASCAR Camping
World Schedule and or NASCAR Craftsman Truck Schedule in the future.
Co-Ceos Diane and Rob Beasely of
IDS, Inc. say, “Katie has everything it takes to be a professional race
car driver. She is intensely competitive with a strong desire to win
and she understands the business side of motorsports. More than this,
we think she will be a great role model for other young racers around
the world.”
The IDS Driver Development Program
works with promising young drivers and builds a commercial framework
around them that will aid in the development of their careers. The
program provides sponsorship support, marketing training and involvement
with top motorsports professionals to create a well-rounded athlete who
can compete at the top levels. Assisting Katie’s team (Golden State
Racing, Inc.) in sponsorship development will be Robert Villegas of New
Century Marketing Concepts and his son Roberto of i-sponsor.com.
