For decades, the historic Edinburgh Edition of the writings of the Early Church Fathers translated into English has made a major contribution to students of Christian history, philosophy, and theology. The Logos Library System edition of the ECF provides the interactive links between text, footnotes, Bible references and hundreds of Bibles and Bible reference books available in the Logos Library System format.

The Logos Library System edition of the ECF may be used a stand-alone application or it may be added to your present Logos Library System compatible collection of electronic books. Every CD-ROM includes a free copy of the Logos Library System viewer, containing everything you need to display, search and annotate the Early Church Fathers.

The Early Church Fathers CD-ROM comes in two versions, Protestant and Catholic. Simply put, the difference is that the Protestant edition contains additional front matter written at a later date. There is no difference in the actual ECF text.

The LLS Early Church Fathers is a complete version of the Edinburgh English print edition including all of the extra matter of editor's and translator's notes and insuring the user has access to the valuable historical and background data underlying this edition.

The LLS ECF allows the material to be presented on screen very much as it is in the print edition. Typesetting conventions, font styles, and layout are largely preserved. The LLS edition is the only electronic edition to preserve parallel texts as they appear in print.

You can add notes to key words or articles.

Cut and paste and drag and drop are supported for integration with your favorite word processor.

Cross references and Bible jumps are "live." References in the introductions, footnotes, etc. to other texts in the series are active hyperlinks that jump with a single click of the mouse. Bible references are also live and a single click will bring up whichever Bible version you prefer. (Users may need to have or purchase a Bible in LLS format in order to use this feature.)

The LLS edition of the ECF represents more than 18,900 pages of text, 166 different authors, 2193 individual articles or books, nearly 50,000 footnotes and 293 editorial articles. It is one of the largest electronic reference books with complete footnotes ever produced.
