After a career in NASCAR working on Dale
Jarrett’s Winston Cup Championship Team to name a few, James McDunnah has
decided to return to driving. He has chosen the thirteen-race NHRA
(National Hot Rod Association) Pro Modified series and the twelve race
IHRA Pro Stock class in the Hooters Drag Racing series.
In
the NHRA, James will pilot Trussell Motorsports’ second car in 2005 along
with legendary driver Ed Hoover in car one. Ed Hoover selected James as a
driver he would like to mentor going forward. The team is also doing match
races as time permits at certain events mostly in the southeast. In IHRA,
James is teaming his own car with the Mike Bell team in a two car effort
creating the McDunnah-Bell Motorsports team. Mike Bell is a highly
successful former world champion driver who routinely finishes in the
finals. So in a sense the total amount of races the team would be
attending could reach close to fifty or more.
